Name: Anton Hewett
Age: 29
Occupation: Random odd jobs that he can happen to find that will accept him (cashier, store clerk, dishwasher, busboy, etc.) In his spare time, he usually paints or draws using his manifestation ability to create intricate and small details in his work and sells his work whenever he can for some extra cash.
Manifestation: Anton's manifestation of the eyes is ironic given the fact that he was born legally blind, only able to see dark shadows is the contrast was high enough. When the illness infiltrated his body, it attacked the weakest part of him, his atrophied optic nerves, and when he was given the “cure” it stayed in his eyes, enhancing them as the illness does. His ability gives him hawk-like vision and makes him extremely hyper-sensitive to details even at a long distance. This means he can read people very easily. Much like a polygraph (lie detector) can sense the slight changes of pulse and movement of a person he can see all of that clear as day. He is very nearly a mind reader because of this.
Personality: Anton is usually very quiet, observing the world around him (whether it be with his superior vision or by touch, sound, and smell) rather than taking part in it. Although if you do successfully strike up a conversation with him, he'll gladly take the reigns and talk all of what he observes. He is aloof and not very social and prefers to keep to himself. He treasures the few good relationships he has and treats all of his friends with extreme care and understanding. He sometimes hates his manifestation and wishes that he was completely blind instead seeing “all the terrors that the world has to offer”. At times (usually after seeing something rather unpleasant) he'll wear a blindfold (more of a symbol than of actual use since he's practically blind half of the time) to bar himself from the terrifyingly detailed visual world that he's capable of seeing.
Skills: As previously stated, he is extremely observant and can read people beyond extremely well. He is also good at navigating himself in darkness due to his normally terrible vision. Because of his manifested abilities and a very steady hand, he is a very precise painter and drawer (he knows this skill set would be well fit for an architect but he finds the profession too tedious and work too hard to come by).
Equipment: He usually has a blindfold on him which he will wear on occasion when he's alone. It comforts him and is a physical reminder for him to not overuse his ability so that he doesn't need an emergency doctor's appointment. He also will sometime carry his blind cane/walking stick when going to public places. He may not always use it but he doesn't want to get caught using his ability within the city limits (which is difficult because it is hard to tell when he's using it and when he's not but he doesn't want to risk an arrest or a fine). There is always a pocket knife on his person whenever he leaves his apartment. Since he's not the strongest guy on the block, he needs a little something more to protect himself if ever needed.
Background: Anton's parent's owned a mom and pop convenience store, where he started learning to maneuver the world around him with his terrible eyesight. When the fissures appeared and he caught the illness, he had quite a hard time adjusting from almost blind to suddenly having superhuman vision. He has since gotten used to the transition. He is an only child and although his parents are still alive, he never really likes to talk to them.
Appearance: He stands at 5'10” with darker ginger blonde hair and hazel eyes. He has cracks from the illness around his eyes and down his cheeks and neck. He is on the thinner side of the average male spectrum and is by no means exceptionally strong. Because his jobs usually don't involve too much manual labor, he doesn't pack on more than an average amount of muscle (if not a little below average).
