Name: Adam Conroy
Age: 35
Occupation: Feeding
Manifestation: (Hand)- Conroy's manifestation is particularly dangerous and makes him quite deranged. He has the ability- The need- for absorption of molecular structure. He deconstructs these molecules and feeds off the energy resulting from the chemical reaction that occurs. These atoms can later be regurgitated from his mouth in the form of high-intensity energy discharge similar to fire, but far hotter and less organic, more beamlike. He can absorb this matter through any part of his body, but usually does so through his hands, as his clothes are at risk when he uses his entire body.
Conroy most often absorbs matter through his hands, stores energy in his stomach, and then regurgitates it through his mouth. During this process, the organic tissues of his skin and muscle glow faintly, lighting up his skeleton from within. Conroy's manifest has an unusual side-effect- He requires this absorption in order to survive. It does not manifest as a withdrawal, but as pure hunger. As such, Conroy is not squeamish about absorbing whatever- And whoever- He needs in order to survive.
As he can absorb matter through any part of his body, Conroy is a walking force of nature- He is unstoppable by any material means and can simply walk through any wall in his way, leaving a man-shaped hole.
While matter is stored in his stomach, he becomes superhumanly dense to compensate for his increased mass. Although making him difficult to stop, it effectively roots him to the ground and impedes his movement proportional to the level of absorption.
The discharge effect has a very limited range of approximately three yards, beyond which effect is negligible.
Although powerful, Conroy is susceptible to all energy-based attacks, such as fire or electricity, and even when absorbing through all of his body and shining his skin still reacts as normal, able to be burnt or electrocuted, still feels kinetic force and pain. When unconscious, his powers deactivate entirely.
Conroy's body reaches critical mass after approximately 1,000 pounds (Half of one ton) but due to the speed with which it is excelled during the energy regurgitation, it seems to be immaterial.
Personality: Conroy's powers developed while he was at a very tender stage in his life, at age fifteen, while he was still learning about the world and going through puberty. His ability warped his mind severely- his necessity to feed resulted in an unusual outlook on life, the philosophy that everything we do as humans is driven by hunger or fear. Everything.
He is not squeamish about doing things for the sake of feeding himself. He has no overall goals, just the hunger. He is soft-spoken but highly intelligent, somewhat charismatic, and very optimistic about his purpose in life. He is prone to spouting philosophic non-sequiters, even during combat, and remarks often on how 'likable' the person he is about to eat is, praising their better qualities, following up with 'It really is a shame to have to eat you' or something of the like.
Although he acknowledges his slowness, he is extremely resourceful, and is good at disappearing in a crowd due to his average, forgettable appearance. Conroy feeds indiscriminately, and does not discriminate based on normality, race, or even age. Everything is matter. Everything is edible.
Skills: Conroy is a relatively normal fellow- Except, you know, that he's insane. He really has no outstanding skills, other than his curious charisma. He's almost likable were it not for his tendency to eat people.
Equipment: None.
Background: One of the earliest people to Manifest, Conroy was at a delicate time in his mental and physical development when his powers twisted his brain and gave him a new outlook on life. He ate his parents, ate his dog, and then brought their house down. When he was pulled out of the rubble it was a 'miracle'- Nobody knew, or could understand, what exactly Adam Conroy had done. Or would continue to do.
Mostly attempting to avoid garnering too much unwanted attention, Conroy fed in back allies, on unsuspecting bums or squatters who never realized Conroy's true danger. Occasionally, Conroy's charisma lead another to follow him- But these partnerships never lasted long. Inevitably, Conroy's hunger drove him to consume the other. Conroy knows he cannot always adhere to his philosophies of consumption, and so gauges the right time and place for his abilities. Formally uneducated, Conroy was left nothing but books to read in his spare time. His favorite book, Heart of Darkness, reinforced his opinions about society and humanity itself.
Appearance: A tall, broad-shouldered man with a boyish face that is easily forgettable. Most often seen with a content, innocent smile. He wears a long trench coat of varying color, a black shirt, baggy cargo pants, and sneakers. Around his neck he wears a scarf. His brown hair is short cropped, similar to an army buzzcut.
