Name: Popper
Age: 47... in dog years, aha. He's estimated to be about 6 or 7 years old.
Occupation: Mack Villard's (recent) companion; dog.
Manifestation: Manifest of foot (paw?) -- physical strength is affected. However, because he's a dog (and if being able to enhance his strength is only possible through mentally triggering it) he's not able to actually act on his power. Being unaware of the situation (although aware that there's something wrong with his body) makes it nigh impossible to actually use his manifestation to his advantage. However, in a crisis, such as being at a risk of being wounded or hurt, he may subconsciously pull up the power card--but this is only in a dire situation, which he has not yet been subject to.
Personality: After getting through a thin, shy shell, he's a dopey, happy, yet quiet dog. There's not much to him; if you give him a little bit of love, you've filled your personal Popper quota, and he'll be a pal for a long while.
He has some attachment issues, however: after either being abandoned or passed on to home after home due to his owners either dying, becoming extremely weak, or just unable to care for him, Popper grows extremely attached to whomever takes care of him next, simply because he needs the support. Being a dog, he just grows onto his owner, and unfortunately has a very difficult time letting go.
Skills: Being a Plott Hound, he's skilled at tracking a given scent and hunting it out. When hunting, he's aggressive, yet courageous. Due to his exposure to the outside, he's not a stranger to New Lancaster's surroundings.
Equipment: N/A
Background: Popper was born eighteen years after the tear appeared in New Lancaster, however, he's not a native of the city. He was born with six other siblings in an extremely close neighboring town, but eventually escaped his home after about six years of being passed about from home to home, as, unfortunately, many of his owners fell ill (it's assumed that the illness that had fallen on New Lancaster was spreading to its very outer edges, affecting the town Popper resided in).
He had squeezed his way into New Lancaster by chance--he had no clue where he was going, but didn't have anywhere in particular to go. Still unaffected by the Fissure, and still donning his collar, he roamed for a while, until he was finally spotted by wandering doctor Mack Villard. After gaining the dog's trust (note: this took about 1.8943 seconds), Mack checked the tag and knew there wouldn't be a way to get him home, should the people there be alive. So he took the healthy dog in with him, despite a severe lack of pet supply stores considering the lack of pets.
All was well for about four months, until finally, the seemingly immune dog showed the early signs of the Fissure. He became anxious, aggressive toward Mack, and all-around very un-Popper. Mack, not a veterinarian, did all that he could do for the dog: he injected him with the "cure", only hoping that it was the Fissure he was experiencing. And thankfully, he was right. It retreated to all paws, though crept up the hind legs moreso than the front. This was when Mack had to keep the dog more of a secret than he already was.
Despite being unable to experience the outdoors, Popper's very happy with his current situation. Although he doesn't understand it, he's simply happy to have a home and an owner again.
Appearance: here's a picture from Google because it's 3:30 in the morning:
Middle-aged for a dog and experiencing the Fissure, he's actually pretty healthy considering the circumstances.
